    Healing Trauma

A guided course for understanding and healing trauma

    Healing Trauma Course

A structured, lesson-by-lesson course designed to help you understand how trauma rewires your nervous system, develop the safety and regulation that make processing possible, and rebuild a life that is organized around meaning rather than survival. Each lesson alternates between deep psychological foundations and hands-on application to trauma specifically.

8 lessons · Includes 4 Psychological Foundations courses
    1

Lesson 1 – Finding Solid Ground

Before you process anything, your nervous system needs to know it is safe. This lesson provides crisis resources, teaches grounding and containment techniques designed for trauma survivors, and introduces the Window of Tolerance—the concept that will frame every intervention in this course. This is not about revisiting what happened. This is about building the stability that makes revisiting possible.

Lesson 2 – What Trauma Actually Is

    Complete

Trauma is not what happened to you—it is what happened inside you as a result. This lesson walks through the major models of trauma: Polyvagal Theory and the nervous system's hierarchy of defense, the Window of Tolerance and dysregulation, Structural Dissociation, Betrayal Trauma, Somatic Experiencing, and Cognitive Processing Therapy—so you can understand the machinery that keeps you stuck in survival mode long after the danger has passed.

Lesson 3 – Learning to Notice

The foundational psychological awareness that makes trauma recovery possible. Trauma fragments your ability to observe your own internal experience—this course teaches you to notice thoughts, emotions, and body sensations as they arise, rebuilding the self-awareness that trauma has disrupted.

Lesson 4 – Beneath the Surface

    Complete

The Intermediate psychological foundations course—where you learn how your brain assigns meaning to experiences in milliseconds. Trauma distorts this process, making neutral stimuli feel like threats. Understanding symbolic processing, defense mechanisms, and the difference between primary and secondary emotions is essential for understanding why your nervous system keeps reacting to things that are not actually dangerous.

    5

Lesson 5 – Reclaiming Your Body

Guided exercises to interrupt the specific trauma patterns you have identified. Trigger Mapping to identify what activates your survival responses, Chain Analysis to trace the full sequence from trigger to trauma reaction, and the three healing pathways—cognitive processing for the mind, somatic techniques and graduated exposure for the body, and EMDR and IFS for the subconscious—applied directly to your trauma.

Lesson 6 – The Deep Architecture

    Complete

The Advanced psychological foundations course—the core beliefs and identity structures that were installed by trauma long before you had the capacity to question them. This is where you learn how traumatic experiences built the lens through which you see safety, trust, control, and your own worth—and why that lens keeps producing the same hypervigilant, avoidant, or dissociative responses.

    7

    Lesson 7 – Post-Traumatic Growth

The most important work in trauma recovery is not eliminating symptoms—it is building a life that is no longer organized around survival. Values Clarification to discover what matters to you beyond avoiding danger, Life Wheel Assessment to see where trauma has constricted your life, Best Possible Self to envision who you are when safety is no longer your primary concern, and Future Self Meditation to practice being that person now.

    Lesson 8 – Integration & Wholeness

    Complete

The final level of psychological foundations—integrating everything you have learned into a coherent, lived understanding of yourself. Recovery from trauma is not about erasing what happened. It is about building a self that can hold the full truth of your history without being controlled by it—and that can also hold safety, connection, and meaning without waiting for them to be taken away.
