Activity Scheduling is a behavioral technique where you plan activities in advance and commit to doing them at set times, regardless of how you feel in the moment. It's a core component of Behavioral Activation therapy for depression.
The technique works because when we're struggling, we tend to wait until we "feel like" doing something—but that feeling rarely comes. By scheduling activities ahead of time, we remove the decision-making that mood often sabotages.
