    Strengths Inventory

Everyone has strengths—qualities that come naturally, energize you, and lead to consistent success. Yet many people struggle to name their own. We're often more attuned to our weaknesses than our gifts.

A strengths inventory helps you systematically identify what you're genuinely good at. This isn't about false modesty or arrogance—it's about honest self-assessment. Knowing your strengths helps you make better career choices, build stronger relationships, and focus your energy where it matters most.

    How to Identify Your Strengths

    1. Reflect on past successes

•Think about times you felt proud, accomplished, or in flow
•What were you doing? What skills were you using?
•Look for patterns across work, relationships, and hobbies

    2. Notice what comes easily

•Strengths often feel effortless, which is why we overlook them
•What do people frequently compliment you on?
•What tasks do others struggle with that seem simple to you?

    3. Ask others

•We have blind spots about ourselves
•Ask 5-10 people: "What do you see as my top 3 strengths?"
•You'll likely hear themes you hadn't considered

    4. Take a formal assessment

    •CliftonStrengths (paid)

    5. Notice what energizes vs. drains you

•True strengths leave you feeling energized, even after effort

    Using Your Strengths

Once identified, use your strengths more intentionally:

•Structure your work around them when possible
•Lead with them in new situations
•Pair with others whose strengths complement yours
•Tackle challenges creatively using your natural abilities

Research shows: People who use their strengths daily are 6x more likely to be engaged in work and 3x more likely to report excellent quality of life.

    Signs of a true strength:

•It feels natural and relatively effortless
    •You learn related skills quickly
•Time passes quickly when you use it
•You feel energized, not drained, afterward
•Others notice and comment on it
•You feel authentic when using it

    Strength vs. skill:

•A skill is something you've learned to do well
•A strength is a natural capacity that energizes you
•You can be skilled at something that drains you—that's not a strength to build your life around
•True strengths combine natural ability with passion
